David is the president & founder of White + Burke and leads the consulting side of the firm through strategic analysis, project development, and asset management. With his encyclopedic knowledge of investment real estate and the development process, David tends to anticipate problems before they arise and develop a variety of possible solutions that range from conventional to inventive. He thrives on collaborating with colleagues from allied disciplines to develop creative solutions that work for clients’ projects.
Before founding White + Burke, David was Vice President of Pomerleau Real Estate, following positions as the Director of the Community Development Agency in Montpelier, VT and founding Executive Director of Montpelier on the Move, a non-profit downtown development organization. David received his bachelor degree from Goddard College and a Master of Science degree in Community Economic Development from Southern New Hampshire University. He has lived in Vermont for over 35 years.
David is a member of the Green Mountain Bicycle Club, racing in weekly time trials and completing several century (100-mile) rides each season. When he’s not riding, David collects and restores vintage road bikes from the ’50s-’80s, follows the Formula 1 and Indy Car Series, and traces the genealogy of both his and his wife’s families. In colder months he teaches snowboarding and is certified as a level 2 instructor by the American Association of Snowboard Instructors.
